Calfskin natural thin

The thinly ground calf nappa leather, vegetable (natural tanning) tanned, is very durable and by preserving the smooth grain a very high quality stable and dense leather in the thickness of +/- 0.3 mm. 1/2 hide = hide size approx. 1.2 m².

This leather is useful for pneumatic wedge bellows, pocket leathering or membranes. It can also be used for gluing on seals. Before use, a tightness test must be carried out especially for very thin areas with a thickness of only 0.2 mm, which can occur on the flanks and edges due to the starch treatment, when used in open areas.

Calf leather as a "young" cowhide is a smooth, soft and durable leather. Ideal for use with pneumatic controls. After processing, we recommend treating the open leather surfaces for sealing and preservation, e.g. with leather preservative or at least with talcum powder. Greased leather is denser and less susceptible to moisture fluctuations.

We recommend trial leathering before major use.

For the leathering of register bellows from a base area of 10 x 10 cm or large membranes, we recommend the same leather, but somewhat stronger. Please ask for availability. We also use the white lamb leather with a thickness of approx. 0.4 mm.
